Dr. Kelley Newcomer is medical director for the Compassus program serving Dallas. She is an assistant professor of palliative medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School where she is a teacher in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. She also serves as medical director for Manchester Place Assisted Living.
She received her bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Texas at Austin and her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern where she also completed a psychiatry internship. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas where she later became a clinical instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Newcomer also served as a full-time medical missionary at Hospital Evangelico and Hospital Loma de Luz in Honduras for four years before focusing on geriatrics and palliative medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine.
