Dr. Michael Rabow has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry and is an expert in hospice and palliative care. He is professor of clinical medicine and urology in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and currently serves as director of the Symptom Management Service for the university’s Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he holds the Helen Diller Family Chair in Palliative Care. He is also director of the Symptom Management and Palliative Care Consulting Service at the UCSF Bakar Cancer Hospital. He is a member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators.

Rabow has received numerous awards for his work in hospice and palliative care, including the Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Physician Award. He was a faculty scholar for the Soros Foundation’s Project on Death in America.

Rabow is board certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative care. He received his undergraduate degree in anthropology from Harvard College and completed his doctor of medicine, internal medicine residency and fellowships in general medicine and education research at UCSF.
