Dr. Alan Levitt has been a medical officer in the Division of Chronic and Post-Acute Care at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services since 2013, where he oversees the Quality Reporting Programs for Home Health Agencies, Hospices, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities, Long-Term Care Hospitals and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Levitt previously spent 17 years at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopaedic Institute, formerly Kernan Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, where he served in a variety of medical leadership positions including chief of medicine, president of the medical staff and director of the stroke rehabilitation unit. He also served as assistant professor at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine for 19 years.
Levitt received his bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He completed his residency at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut.
