Katy Barnett is the principal associate on The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Improving End-of-Life Care Project where she leads the project’s work to improve the implementation of quality metrics for palliative and end-of-life care across healthcare settings. Prior to joining Pew, Barnett was senior manager of policy and communications for the Eldercare Workforce Alliance, a coalition of 31 national organizations dedicated to ensuring the healthcare workforce is prepared to care for an aging America. She began her career in healthcare policy as an advocacy and grassroots manager for the Visiting Nurse Associations of America, a national trade association that supports, promotes and advocates for mission-driven providers of home health, hospice and palliative care.

Barnett is a graduate of the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management and Eastern Oregon University.
