Dr. Bruce Smith has served the past three years as senior regional medical director for Care Services at Optum in the Colorado, West Region. He also holds clinical faculty positions at Saint Joseph Hospital’s internal medicine residency program and the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Prior to joining Optum, he served as primary care medical director for the SCL Health System and saw patients at an internal medicine practice for more than 10 years. He also served as the chairman of ambulatory medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital.
Smith received his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Joseph Hospital. Smith is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of the American Medical Directors Association.
