Stan Brown has been part of the Compassus team since 2006 and currently serves as regional vice president and chair of Compassus Living Hope Foundation. He has more than three decades of experience in healthcare and hospice.
Brown previously led hospice services as a general manager of Odyssey Healthcare where he developed new programs in Alabama, Kansas and Oklahoma. He also served as director of operations, southern division, for Beverly Healthcare where he led efforts to convert 15 southern hospice programs in Alabama and Mississippi to Beverly’s AseraCare hospice division. Prior to this role, he was director of rural operations for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice where he was responsible for forming a coalition of five not-for-profit hospice programs in Kansas covering 20 underserved rural counties. He served as chief executive officer for Hospice of the Prairie in Dodge City, Kansas, where he took an underfunded hospice program and added a Medicare home health agency as a secondary revenue source, allowing the organization to stabilize financially and continue to provide hospice and home health services in 28 western Kansas counties. Before that, he worked as director of community health at a continuing care retirement community and managed a Medicare-certified home health and hospice agency providing private healthcare education, intervention and services to 900 independent residents in a privately funded retirement community.
Brown is a graduate of the Hutchinson School of Nursing and is a registered nurse.
