Eyitayo “Mike” Odeniyi, DNP, RN, GNP-BC, is a gerontological nurse practitioner in Houston, Texas, serving patients of Compassus in Houston as well as those of Kindred At Home Hospice and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center.
A practicing nurse since 1991, Odeniyi earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s School of Nursing. He previously completed licensed vocational nursing and associate degree programs in nursing at Wharton County Junior College in Sugar Land, Texas.
Committed to sharing knowledge and education, Odeniyi is a frequent presenter to professional, student and support group audiences on topics such as heart health, palliative care and chronic disease. He has served on the adjunct faculty of the Bachelor of Science Nursing Program at Texas Woman’s University and as a clinical instructor in the Bachelor of Science Nursing Program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
Odeniyi is a voting member of the Texas Nurses Association, Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association, Houston Area Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society-Zeta Pi Chapter and the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. He maintains licensures as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Texas.
