Marcia Wilson, PhD, MBA, is the Senior Vice President of Quality Measurement for The National Quality Forum, a not-for-profit membership organization that works to catalyze health care improvement through quality measurement and reporting. Dr. Wilson leads the core NQF activities of measure endorsement and measure selection through the multiple-stakeholder consensus process.

Prior to joining NQF, Dr. Wilson’s primary work focused on quality improvement initiatives in health care, with an emphasis on ensuring equitable care for minority patients. Dr. Wilson was the Associate Director for Aligning Forces for Quality, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s signature effort to improve the quality of health care in 16 communities across the U.S. In this role, she led the team responsible for overseeing and supporting all activities of the 16 Aligning Forces’ communities working to make changes in performance measurement and public reporting, quality improvement, patient experience, consumer engagement and reductions in health care costs. Dr. Wilson was responsible for the development and implementation of two nationwide hospital initiatives — addressing disparities in cardiac care and reducing emergency department crowding by improving hospital-wide throughput.

Dr. Wilson has nearly 20 years of experience in health care, working primarily with medical groups. Her experience in the financing of health care services includes third-party reimbursement, budgets, integrated networks and managed care.
